1. About this policy
This policy explains how cookies and similar storage technologies are used on www.arctanedigital.co.uk. It complements our Privacy Policy.
2. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. They are widely used to make sites work, work better, or to provide information about how the site is used.
3. Cookies we use
We aim to keep this site as cookie-light as possible. The cookies and similar storage we use fall into two groups:
Strictly necessary
These are required for the site to function and do not require consent under UK PECR. The only item in this category is a single value stored locally in your browser that remembers the choice you made on the cookie banner, so we don't ask you again on every page.
Optional (analytics)
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used in aggregate (which pages people read, which routes lead to enquiries, where visitors come from). The Google Analytics script is only loaded if you accept it on the cookie banner. Rejecting it means no script is loaded and no data is sent.
When loaded, Google Analytics sets the following cookies on your device:
- _ga: distinguishes unique visitors. Expires after 2 years.
- _ga_F46C6X617P: preserves session state. Expires after 2 years.
If you withdraw consent later via the Cookie preferences link in the footer, we delete these cookies and stop loading the analytics script.
We do not use third-party advertising cookies, social media tracking pixels, or cross-site profiling cookies.
4. Changing your choice
You can change your cookie preferences at any time by clicking Cookie preferences at the bottom of any page. This re-opens the banner with your current settings, and any change you save takes effect immediately.
You can also clear your saved preference entirely by clearing site data for www.arctanedigital.co.uk in your browser settings, in which case the banner will appear again on your next visit.
5. Third-party services
Some pages may include content or links from third parties (for example, embedded videos or maps). Those third parties may set their own cookies when their content is loaded. Their use of cookies is governed by their own policies.
6. Managing cookies
Most browsers let you view, manage, and delete cookies through their settings. You can usually find these under “Privacy”, “Security”, or “Site data”. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site from working as intended.
7. Changes
We update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available at this URL with the date it was last updated.
